Still devastated with the shock eviction of his ‘best friend’ from X Factor, Eoghan Quigg comforted Diana Vickers with a secret kiss upon their return to the house.

Eoghan, holding his trademark colourful cap in his right hand, appeared to be putting his arms around Diana as he moved in for a tender kiss.

Only moments before, the pair were seen holding hands as they shared a taxi ride back to the X Factor house after the show. The latest show of affection further fuels speculation that the pair are a couple.

But the were tears all-round when Diana left the X Factor last night after missing out on a place in the final.

Diana had been tipped by many to win the competition, but was beaten to the final three by Alexandra Burke, JLS and Quigg after more than two million viewers voted for their favourite act.

In an emotionally charged results show the 17-year-old was voted into the bottom two, alongside Eoghan. Both burst into tears following the announcement that she would be leaving, with Eoghan proving inconsolable.
